The Inclusion Team
Our wonderful team of Inclusion Assistants and Mentors is headed up by Mr Millington, who is Deputy Headteacher, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Lead Teacher for Looked After Children, and is also responsible for Pupils with English as an Additional Language, Pupil Welfare, and School Behaviour and Conduct, including Uniform. That's quite a lot isn't it?!
Mr Millington is very ably supported by Mrs Coles, our Welfare Lead, who is often the person to support children and families with issues outside of school, and Mr Bowen, our Assistant SENDCo.
Miss Jenks and Miss Barton are our Emotional Literacy Support Assistants, who work proactively and reactively with children who might be struggling emotionally during the school day.
Mr Probert (aka 'Coach Carl') is an Inclusion Mentor, who checks in every day with children who might need a bit of a boost.
Miss Barnard, Ms Deeley, Mrs Goodman, Mr Hartshorne, Mrs Lerwill and Mrs Smith are our Inclusion Assistants who work with individual children, small groups and classes to support anyone with additional needs.
What a fabulous team it is, and how lucky we are to have such great people working in our school!
